I have been dreaming of San Francisco since my high school days, reading steamy novels by Danielle Steel. While the characters were falling in love with one another, I was busy falling in love with the author’s descriptions of “The City By The Bay”.
In the fall of 1991, I made the big move to the City from a small, picturesque town in Alaska where I grew up. I fell in love with its diversity and magnetic draw of all things slightly odd. (Sometimes it feels like the Island of Misfit Toys in a wonderful way.) When I drove across the Bay Bridge and got my first glimpse of the San Francisco skyline, I fell in love.
I have been lucky enough to live in the North Bay and the East Bay, and I am fortunate to live in the city that steals so many hearts. It isn’t always easy, loving (& living in) San Francisco.
I knew going into the Design field that I may not make the “big money”, but I wouldn’t be truly happy unless I was able to be in a creative field, and so I studied design, photography and architecture.
Fiery Red Design was created in the fall of 2017. I was inspired by a medium grey graphic on a black concert T-shirt, but I wasn’t sure what to do with it until one morning last November when I opened our front curtains and saw the faint silhouette of the Sutro Tower with blinking red lights against the black of the early morning sky. That was it! That was the creative bug that had been crawling around in my brain!
It takes a village, and I have a wonderful network of creative individuals. Our T-shirts are screen printed in SF by Babylon Burning. Jaime is our Marketing Director, meaning she is in charge of making sure I am clearly expressing my creative thoughts and keeping me on track.
And finally, my husband, Gabe is Creative Feedback, Budgeting (whatever that is?) and Debt Collection.
From screen printing, branding and marketing, I am surrounded by creative and talented people. I am grateful for these connections that keep our products local.
Our models are the best... because they are all local San Franciscans.
Our goal is to sell unique San Francisco graphics to those who love San Francisco the most, the locals.
